Jennifer Hudson is opening up about a major family revelation.
The talk show host discussed family during an appearance on the "Your Mama's Kitchen" podcast, shedding light on her father and siblings.
"Your father had a big personality," journalist and podcast host Michele Norris said. "And you went with your siblings and went and found him at some point and found that you had a lot more siblings?"
"Yes, a lot of us," Hudson, 42. "Apparently he had 27 children."
The singer and actress added that she has never met all her siblings, but her father producing 27 children was "what we were always told."

The "Dreamgirls" star said she found out when she was a teenager.
"It was my dream to have all of us at this grand Thanksgiving or Christmas table, and we all sit and eat together — that was my goal at 16," she said.
"We found quite a few of us," Hudson said, noting she has also met several siblings in addition to the siblings she grew up with. "And I'm the youngest of all of them."
She said her father's side has assisted in connecting the siblings.
"When my grandma on his side passed, my siblings over there were like, 'Y'all got a sister that can really sing, you should meet her,'" she said. "And eventually we all came together."
For Hudson, she has one child, 14-year-old son David Daniel Otunga Jr., with ex David Otunga. She is currently dating rapper Common.
The EGOT winner briefly commented on the romance in an interview with People at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this month. "Everything is wonderful," she said. "That's all you need to know."

Hudson’s comments follow Common’s appearance on the singer's talk show, "The Jennifer Hudson Show," in January. In the episode, Hudson playfully pressed Common, who arrived with flowers for her and said he loves "being in your presence."
"Let's get down to business, Mr. Common," Hudson said at the time. "I'm a host, and so I have to ask you this question because everybody always wants to know this. Are you dating anyone?"

The crowd cheered as the Grammy-winning rapper laughed nervously. "So, yes," he said. "And I'm in a relationship that is (with) one of the most beautiful people I've ever met in life."
